[Drinking] Three new craft beer bars opening soon in Brighton

Now you come to mention it, I do recall a "how much?" thought when I bought my round of three drinks, which were a Gun something-or-other, a South Downs Cider rhubarb effort and another cider. It was very possibly £16-something, which felt steep compared to my previous round of two pints for £8...

After visiting the Grizzly Bear and Broodsteed the other night with Papa Lazarou, we then went to visit the Whiskey Rooms, but it was closed. Wandering further towards the pedestrianised part of Montague Street we happened across Wax Cactus in a converted butchers shop. The landlord told us...

I'm pretty sure their sign said "Micropub?"...

Can be a bit of an acquired taste for sure. I like some but by no means all. I have a vague recollection that Firebird, up in Horsham, do a few more ale-y types. Not sure if any of these would be your kind of thing: https://www.firebirdbrewing.com/cask-and-craft-keg.html

There will be craft beer out there for you somewhere as craft beer isn't a particular type of beer, more a process of small-scale production. So there will be craft beers of al types, from lagers to stouts, from ambers...

Grizzly Bear just north of West Worthing Station is an absolute delight. It was probably the first micropub I'd been to that was as the name suggests: a small pub, in that it serves a selection of drinks for all tastes and not just ale.

Agreed - I've long said it's bizarre how pubs where you can watch football are often pretty poor in most areas, most notably drink selection and food quality. In a similar vein, pubs for families - with play areas and the like - are also often places you otherwise would not visit with shit...
