[Albion] ST revoked for touting Arsenal game? Now with PB response (post #306)

I wish I'd known about this brouhaha last season. I'd have just bought 20 season tickets to be used by my "friends" on NSC, passing them around as the club are happy to turn a blind eye towards.

I'd be shocked if a supposedly professional organisation gave me a letter as badly worded as that, yes. Someone on work experience presumably. It truly is appalling.

To follow up. When people buy tickets from these dodgy sites and the club can identify the tickets being sold, then when the purchasers turn up at the Amex they are refused entry and given one of these letters.

I wonder if that's where I should list the Everton ticket I bought, can't use and there is no valid approach available to me other than to lose £30 and get a bonus "you didn't use your ticket so you're not getting loyalty points" email from the club?

I suspect this will all become a non-issue now. The club have made it abundantly clear that if you are 'seen' selling an Albion ticket in the public, and you can be traced, then you are going to lose your privileges with the club. There can't be many, if any, Albion fans who aren't aware of...

[Albion] ST revoked for touting Arsenal game? Now with PB response (post #306)

I'm fully supportive of the club doing what they pragmatically can to stop people from trying to profit from Albion tickets, particularly those who look to do so from the discount inherent in a season ticket purchase. I also fully appreciate that a line has to be drawn between what is OK and...

[Albion] ST revoked for touting Arsenal game? Now with PB response (post #306)

When people pass them onto a mate there is very often a reciprocal financial transaction involved. I know of one such large group where this happens for every game with £25 being the acknowledged going rate. (Note to Albion supporter services: I have clearly NEVER done this myself as it's...

[Albion] ST revoked for touting Arsenal game? Now with PB response (post #306)

The club absolutely does NOT have to act when those identified as long-standing fans pass on a ticket to another Albion fan for face value or less. This scenario is a world away from opportunists intentionally and knowingly looking to profit. To ban a long-standing fan for a period of time...

Why didn't you buy a ticket? You must be fuming that the club closed the ticket exchange so far ahead of the game, as if it had been opened then you may have been able to go. If I give you a shout ahead of, say, the Man Utd game with a spare ticket for nothing but a pint, presumably you'd say...

Agreed. Selling on a ticket for a profit and/or selling on a home ticket to an opposing fan is completely wrong. The banning of loyal and long-standing Albion fans for a transgression that is neither of the above, is also very wrong.

[Albion] ST revoked for touting Arsenal game? Now with PB response (post #306)

The whole approach is a classic "baby out with the bath water" scenario. The club's string and sellotape ticket exchange was deactivated by Saturday morning ahead of the Arsenal game. Any STHs who discovered they were no longer able to attend the game had no means of passing on the tickets to...

No it's not. The club have previously tried to pretend this is important - security blah blah blah - but seem to have dropped this frankly nonsensical line now. Maybe someone realised: - They permit child to adult ticket upgrade on a match by match basis (subject to a limit of 6 times per...
