That's not the case is it - it's the police (BTP presumably) that have determined that Falmer will be closed, presumably because of the disparity between expected demand and available capacity.
As I suspected, it's a safety thing as is the case with Pride and Preston Park.
#Falmer - Due to the RMT dispute severely impacting train services and in discussions with police, their advice is that on safety grounds no trains should stop at Falmer after 5pm on upcoming match days. We are...
Post-match shouldn't be a problem regardless of how limited the service as people drift away both from the Amex and central Brighton over the course of the evening. There are bus options for part/full journeys too.
Pre-match at Brighton Station could be horrible though.
Again, I have no doubt that Paul Barber will be doing anything that could practically help matters for fans. This could just be one where the club are all but powerless, until contract renewal time.
Discussed earlier in this thread. As I posted there, it could be a Pride-like closure (of Preston Park in that instance) on safety grounds due to anticipated demand far outstripping capacity.
You can't. At least not until February/March for next season.
Even with a normal service, there won't be many Rotherham fans using the train to get to Brighton and back on a Tuesday night.
As someone who's travelling plans generally involve ducking out of The Cyclist when the queue starts to lengthen and then grabbing a train back after a post-match beer, I have no idea how many trains the regular timetable provided. Do you know how many more it was?
Maybe they will close it...
One would imagine a cookie as smart as Paul Barber will ensure the Albion will get the best they can out of the situation, but by all means email him with that suggestion just in case...
The Rotherham bit:
"However, we have now also been informed that with the temporary timetable being offered by Southern Trains means that Falmer Station will be closed after 5pm, and there will be no trains for our EFL Championship match against Rotherham on Tuesday 16th August."
Does this...
