    The Jeremy Corbyn thread

What on earth are you talking about? I'm no more of a Tory than Jeremy Corbyn is. I've voted Tory in the past, but I've also voted Labour and Lib Dem. The latter have had my vote for a fair few years now, and I can't see that changing with the two main parties both an utter shambles with...

I respectfully disagree. Johnson WAS being disingenuous when he was campaigning for leave, As most knew, and Cameron has spoken about over the last week or so, Johnson positioned himself based on career objectives, not on his own beliefs. What he is doing now, is trying to see through the...

"Labour accepts the referendum result" https://labour.org.uk/manifesto/negotiating-brexit/ The wind seems to have changed.

The Lib Dems are bad people because they want to ignore the referendum. Us? Oh we're going to ignore the referendum by holding another referendum.

    The Jeremy Corbyn thread

What was bizarre for me was how he said, regarding Brexit... "the Liberal Democrats want to cancel the country’s largest ever democratic vote" ...before saying... "Labour will end the Brexit crisis by taking the decision back to the people with the choice of a credible leave deal alongside...

That's been beyond doubt for some time now. The video he put out where he rocked up at the Conservative Party conference and tried to do a Louis Theroux type act and get young Tories to verbally hang themselves on camera was all kinds of pathetic. I'm sure he has some valid points on occasion...

I've renamed the thread as the previous title seemed somewhat out of date.

Agreed. I struggle to see my vote going anywhere else in the immediate future. As my learned friend Lincoln Imp says: if people believed the Lib Dems could win, they probably would. Unfortunately we just have too many people, on both sides, who can not do anything beyond try to pour scorn on...

    The Jeremy Corbyn thread

A rare visit from me to a political thread because I largely can't be arsed with it all. I'd not seen any of these polls before, but if we take them as being correct, then isn't that really worrying for Labour? Corbyn is supposedly hugely popular and May really unpopular, leading a supposedly...

His face when the PM said she hoped it wouldn't be 650 years before there was a woman leader of the Labour Party. Wonderful free hit he gave her there.

Presumably not you when you were telling us that Corbyn was a failed experiment and had to go. Are you ever going to answer the question as to whether you've fully flip-flopped and are #TeamCorbyn again?

Ernest wanted Kyle deselected for being a traitor/red Tory. Is that a commonheld view?

    The Jeremy Corbyn thread

I think it's because all the Labour loyalists who turned on him on this thread are now trying to keep quiet. Understandable, really.

A 5,000 majority would be a lot if there were only 6,000 voters. There weren't of course - I'm just highlighting that saying "a 5,000 majority is not massive" is a ridiculous thing to say as it needs to be measured against the total vote. It was a 15% majority. However.... He (Michael...

The fact that she's not an MP in the UK Parliament and nor is she standing to be one, is probably a reasonable barrier to that actually happening.

...and has this campaign vindicated a more left-wing approach could be electable? You don't have to flick back through many pages of this thread, with posts made before the election was called, expressing the view that Labour stood no chance until they managed to remove Corbyn and brought in a...

    The Jeremy Corbyn thread

Not wanting to pollute the election thread, so I thought I'd post it here... If the Conservatives, despite May's best efforts to scupper it, manage to form a majority government next week, what will happen to Labour and Corbyn? He's grown into the campaign and his stock is clearly on the rise...

You need to remember the Corbynistas are playing the long game. It will be another year or two before they're losing their deposits.

Agreed. I'd love to see Clegg come back. It's not going to happen, at least not in the short term - the Lib Dems aren't Derby County - but I think he's someone that many can relate to. And, as I've said before, I think he did a decent job of a very difficult task when in coalition.
