The hope is that justice is properly fulfilled. Unlikely we'll get any more truth than the first trial, the appeal evidence will probably just raise the 'reasonable doubt' sufficiently for his conviction to be overturned if that is to be the outcome. Don't think the appeal decision either way...

You realise that in a few weeks the only decision will be whether he is allowed to appeal. He will still be guilty at that point. If he is allowed to appeal, it could be months, if not over a year before an appeal hearing is scheduled and then reaches a decision. He's going to be a convicted...

You doubt his current conviction, why would it be a sad indictment if people don't believe in a future appeal acquittal? They'd be in the same position you are in now - arguing against a court decision.

Where have you read all that? She reported the matter to the police not long after waking up at 11.30am. She was examined by the doctors and a blood sample taken that same afternoon.

I think the fact her original statement to police had no recollection would suggest no apparent motivation to implicate anyone, therefore it is difficult to doubt she is telling the truth that she has no memory of the previous evening. I'm not sure I can work out any reason she'd report the...
