A Newcastle win over Huddersfield today will see them pretty much safe. The pivotal game for the predictors though today is West Ham v Southampton. It'll be good to feed in the real result for this one.

If Southampton lose at West Ham on Saturday then I'll start to party.

Every time I come back to this, it gives 33 points to survive. Just a question now of building up more of a buffer against unfortunate freak results. 1 more win should calm any nerves, but in fact we may already be safe.

West Brom won't get 34 points. Southampton and Stoke will struggle to get 34 points. So, so near to survival now - let's get 1 more win soon to seal the deal.

Yes, I think so. Stoke look to me to be on course for less points than Southampton, so minimising the saints return helps us, I think.

Need to see if we get anything from Arsenal or Everton first, but maybe winning 1 of Leicester or Huddersfield will be ok. A Stoke win at Southampton would help as well.

34 seems the total of the 18th placed team. So add 1 for goal difference, and 3 unexpected points for last day sillyness, and 38 points is still the albion target for me. Stoke winning at Southampton would reduce it to 37 - just 2 more wins. :albion2:

It's the same one Middlesbrough had 2 years ago ( and presumably last year ) I think.

It seems a Stoke victory at Southampton on Saturday would reduce the number of points we need to stay up.
