I did say it is very rare, so he is the exception to the rule at the moment and in fairness to him he has done well but his partners havent been able to stick around too long to help him.
IMHO Root opted for safety first tactics to ensure they didnt win as despite the showing in the 2nd Innings they have some very talented and capable batsmen.
The consolation is that it is very rare that a batsman who has a good day as Elgar has comes out and does the same the next day. I expect him to go without scoring another 20 runs so a couple of wickets before lunch sets us up well as we get into their tail.
The few extra runs up until tea may prove vital but hopefully not. Perhaps time to throw the bat and see what happens.
Let Bairstow get his 50 or lose his wicket before declaring a few minutes wont make a great difference.
It was you who said bang to rights so it was you and Dazzer I was referring to.
I must have had too many G & T yesterday as I installed a streaming site to watch the game Indian Express and cannot now delete it as it doesnt show on programs in control panel but it keeps flashing up on...
As you say I should have said by mid afternoon you are correct I have got confused but would still look at another 200 runs and then declare if needed and hope i leaves time to bowl them out. You and Dazzer win.
