In the circumstances, as reported, I still believe that 7 years was an excessive sentence and would have expected 5 or 6 thus meaning immediate release without any compo as he was found guilty.

I read that a further hearing will be set to review and decide on his sentence so is there any indication of when this will be held. One would hope it will be very soon, in the next few days rather than weeks or months.

Compensation will not enter the equation as he has still been convicted of a serious offense for which he would probably have got imprisonment originally. I would hope that the revised sentence means he has served his time and be eligible for release virtually immediately.
