When I was at school my dad useds to take us children to The Bull on a Sunday to watch cricket then have a drink in there a dn walk to The Mulberry to get a bus home.
Sorry you have kept me posting when I said I wouldnt but I am reasonably sure, but not certain so could be wrong, that Willohatyne has expanded its perimeters over the years. I must admit, as with a previous thread about Teville gate to Woodside Rd in Worthing my estimation of distances when...
My final post on this subject. If you go to Google Maps and type in the search Angmering it will show you the village where the Spotted Cow is and DBS Garage is or was for many years northy of the A259 Worthing - Littlehampton road If however, you put Angmering on Sea in the search it...
We shall have to agree to differ as The Willowhayne Estate always was about 1 mile from the sea. That was a few select houses byt has probably spread out now. My father in Law abd his father in law built Yellow Sands on Ferring beach that was the home of Sir Marcus Sieff of M & S. I will...
We shall have to agree to differ as The Willowhayne Estate always was about 1 mile from the sea. That has probably expanded over the years from what was a few select houses.
Assuming we accept that KG is in EP and the Willowhayne Estate has many expensive properties but I wouldnt think there are to many houses for sale at over about 1.2m or perhaps that is why they are for sale and not sold. How does this compare with South Ferring, not that I can afford to buy...
I will accept that the boundaries may have changed but know 100% there was Angmering and also an area known as Angmering on Sea that my wife used to walk to with her dog.
That is the general consensus of opinion of South Ferring residents that he lives just off Beehive Lane. I cannot be certain only what the locals tell me and my family.
On google maps Follow Coastal Rd west towards South Strands and you will see and pass Angmering on Sea house at the sea end of The Drive. Why would it be called Angmering on Sea if not by the sea. Like EP the village of Angmering is a couple of miles north of that.
I just went on google maps and put Kingston Gorse in the search and it showed as Kjngston Gorse East Preston with it touching on Angmering via Coastal Road. I think that over the years the boundary has changed and as my wife said she probably did walk to Angmering along the beach from Ferring...
As you say DL lives on Kingston Gorse and cycles to EP. I am not disputing that may be the boundary now but it either wasnt or was not accepted as such pre 1960. Greg Stanley always maintained that his club The Blue Peter was just up the road from KG. People used to walk down from the...
Was in there Thursday evening with the family who come from and still live in Ferring good beer well kept by Vernon and reasonable priced food. We had a good evening. If I ever won the lottery I would buy a bungalow in either Goring Way or just north if the railway lines near The Henty.
I am talking of pre 1960s when to quote my wife it was a 10 minute walk along the beach from Angmering to Kingston Gorse but obviously borders have changed. She used to walk it every Sunday morning with her dog going down by the Rife. This was when Ferring didnt have a chippy because a lady...
