I accept that towards the end it seemed as if his head wasnt clear, as if he knew he wasnt going to be offered another contract, but even taking that into account over the season he was far better than Stockdale has been so far this season.
I do not wear blinkers only say it as I see it. He is an inferior expensive replacement for TK. It would help to send Walton out on loan sign Al Habsi out of contract, release Ankergren, and let Al Habsi and Stockdale fight for the no 1 jersey.
It would help if he put in a performance akin to a £1m valued player. Unlike CMS he isnt played out of position or given lack of service, so he doesnt have that excuse. I am sure he will come good eventually but in the meantime we shall have to perservere with his errors how ever big or...
Just watched it again and am convinced it was easy to push to the side of the goal, if not for a corner. I couldnt pause it but it looked like it hit his arm near the elbow rather than his hand but cant be certain.
You are obviously young enough to remember and recall every moment in every game, as I used to be able, but sadly not now, and I just remember the general points. But it doent change my views or opinions
I am unable to remember each incident and relate to which game but remember at the time saying he should have held that, and it has happened in virtually every game. So far this season he has been poor and well below my expectation with his record.
I am critical because he seems to do it at least once in every game rather than just one occassion, In the last couple of seasons when a shot or cross came in there was a thought of no worry PIG is there, the same confidence is not there now and I am sure most supporters sense it.
I would agree he has improved but still not a £1m keeper, granted Al Habsi cost Wigan £4m so should have been better. It is possible that MacKay will want to keep Al Habsi.
No I dont and if he should prove to be competant I will admit it as I have recently, but as Mellotron says it comes to something when an inexperienced 19 year old can show him how to hold the ball. On his recent performances he has shown to be a waste of £1m, we could have had Al Habsi on...
On recent showing I fail to see how having Stockdale back to push the ball back into the 6yd box to a striker can be seen as good news. Walton, who is inexperienced didnt do it once, he held every shot either in his hands or body, perhaps with experience he will learn to push it into the 6yd box.
