Will somebody correct me if I heard wrong but I am sure I heard a chef on TV, possibly James Martin saying he only uses Red Peppers as the others are the same but less ripe. ie green, then yellow then orange to red, I presume.

Have just left them on a window sill and the leaves, as 2 more have grown, have gone green. A quick google said the problem was due to lack of light and the plants searching for the light.

I guess the veg growers who post on here would have been out on their plots so unable to answer my query.

Have started some runner beans indoors to grow in pots with wigwams but they are about 12ins long with 1 yellow leaf at the top is this normal or should I start some more but this time not covered under newspaper to reduce the light.

Mine was very wet at the bottom of a slope and the digging etc became too much for wife and I.. There was a waiting list but as we gave it up last September there are a lot of weeds grown and I dont think that anybody has taken it on this year.

Is it too early to sow runner beans direct into the ground. I have given up my allotment .where I grew them in the greenhouse but want to grow some at home in pots.
