I'm going to continue my echo my thoughts on Hinshelwood - incredible talent. He's very, very special and improves with every game. It shows the real value of giving a player regular minutes so they can grow into the team - we could have lost out on him through not playing him enough to develop...
Not at all for me - he's breaking into the team but he's a central midfielder and for me, he will be a top CM for many years to come. I think he's a proper player and a proper CM.
He was brilliant tonight, as was Buonnanote when he came on. Swapping Hinsh for do nothing Lallana was a huge error. Hinshelwood's a top PL player for the next decade, hopefully for us.
I think this is the point - if our academy is going to start producing a Hinshelwood (literally, if his father was busy enough during his injury lay-offs back in the day, starting to pay off handsomely now!) each season then the pressure on our scouting department and the number crunchers...
He stood there and made no attempt to save it. Like he did for several at Villa. Luckily, Hinshelwood knew he needed to get back and did so. Fine margins.
Loved his goal but his instinct to get back and prevent the usual Steele ignoring a shot on target going in was even better. He won us the game tonight, what a lad.
I understand deciding you don't like a player and then looking to put the boot in at every opportunity, but the kid is 18 and playing Premier League football. There aren't many who are doing that and whatever you think of him, he wouldn't be if we weren't ravaged by injuries and chose to leave...
