For me it's not the ending as such. I don't really have that much of an issue with the way that the loose ends were tied up.
It just felt really rushed at the end. As I understand it the two writers were moving on to something else and it showed. It just appeared to me like everything was...
There was no need to rush any of it. They had a rich and absorbing story woven with interesting threads of plot, lore and theory. They chose to sacrifice all of this for a quick finish.
Why?
Mrs Badfish and I have watched series 1-6 at least 5 times though (started it again recently). Series 7 I have watched once and picked the odd episode to watch again as a refresher. Not sure how many times I will watch series 8 but I am certain I don't feel like I did after the other series...

Thank **** it is over. I feel like a beloved cat has finally been put down after losing bladder control for the last couple of years of its life. Beautiful memories of the moggy but it's shit and piss have really stunk the place out of late.
