Here is one thing I can't get my head around with waiting staff. When a meal is brought to a table, let's say the meal is burger and chips, the waiter will ask ,would you like any sauces with that ? The customer replies, yes please some ketchup and mayo please......the waiter then disappears...

I no longer eat meat, but when I did ordering steak was sometimes hit or miss in some restaurants/ pubs.

I tip in a restaurant if the service has been good, definitely wouldn't tip if the service was crap. Even if the food isn't 100% that isn't the fault of the waiting staff. I don't use taxis very often but when I do I tip the driver, I wouldn't if one deliberately went round the houses for extra...
