Football Manager 2015 - The Official Thread

Despite the odd baffling result (a creditable 3-3 away at Arsenal and a quite incredible 3-0 hammering of Man City at the Amex) my team has largely spent the first season and a half of life in the PL struggling around the relegation zone. Last season I managed to heckle the team into pulling...

Had this the other day: It's brilliant when it happens. Get hammered by a team and still come out on top, or as I've come to call it, The Derby Principle.

I'd had some time away from FM and then I found this brilliant little series via Twitter: http://thesetpieces.com/features/football-manager-meets-moneyball-pt-1/ Am now attempting my own moneyball challenge with FC Energie Cottbus, German third division and the addiction has begun all over again.

It's definitely worth it if you have the time to dedicate to it. In many ways its harder than last year but that difficulty is offset by the satisfaction you get when it goes right. One thing I will say: morale and player happiness play a much bigger part than last year so if you're not...

I had the exact same situation! I lost 4-1 away at Middlesborough and had Derby (surprise, surprise) in the play-off. Lost that as well. Now sitting atop the table, equal points with Sheffield Wednesday but with a healthy goal difference on them.

Sounds like you're having a bit of a journey! I'm always tempted to start unemployed and see where I end up but I usually end up being drawn back to my long running Albion games.

Made a bit of a boo-boo last night. I'd started a new game with Brighton once I got familiar with the systems etc. and bought Pavel Savitskiy. Looks to be a great player for the future, got him cheap. Signed him and only then did I get the message his work permit had been denied. Bloom won't...

Speaking of skins/badges etc. FM Scout has a couple of user created skins - http://www.fmscout.com/c-skins15.html Personally I can't stand the default skin so I'm going to give the White one a go tonight, looks good from those preview pics.

I loaned O'Grady out to Huddersfield. 40K a week and 100% of his wages. His first game for them and he bangs in four goals putting Huddersfield at the top of the table. Above me. By one goal. *******.

Yeah it does it automatically. When Steam boots it searches for any updates for you installed games and downloads them. I had an issue because I started FM15 from the desktop icon; because it opened the game and Steam, I was playing the old version without realising the patch was downloading...

Are you playing the latest patch? They released a patch in early November which fixed a whole host of issues with the match engine: - Improvements to goalkeeping - Improved goals from direct free kicks - Fixed consistently, unrealistic high scorelines in lower leagues - Fixed skin tone issues -...

After getting used to the new features/systems etc. I've decided to start a new game with another old favourite of mine FC Energie Cottbus in the German third division. Recently relegated, well supported, financially knackered. Good challenge. Due to having 0 transfer budget and a tiny wage...

Really like some of the new news items in this one. Just one questioning my 'score one more than you' policy having scored 51 goals and shipped 33 goals in 20 matches.

Yeah, that's the one. The keepers are much more likely to come for crosses, quicker to react when they've palmed a shot away and defender seem to be capable of defending the near post now.

I've just played the Norwich game and the 0-0 draw has left me......one point clear at the top of the league. Bam! The update they've released has gone a long way to stopping the defensive issues in the match engine as well.

I'll be starting a new game soon(ish). I usually take control of Brighton so I can get used to the new features etc. Best way to do that is with a squad you're familiar with. Last time round I had some success with Vidar FK in the Norwegian 2nd division. Got them promoted after five years. Then...
