When they opened gate C they used the cctv to continue the counting. Whilst I accept it would not be totally accurate they would not be too far out, certainly not a 1000.
In addition to my post above, it was clear that pens 3&4 were full by 2:30pm. Having opened the gates the tunnel to the central pens should have been shut off as in previous years. This basic lack of instruction was the biggest issue.
But there wasn't 1000 or more ticketless fans. How difficult is it to understand?
They were counted in and the upper limit was less than 50 above the capacity.
In the previous link I posted, the design of the stadium and number of turnstiles meant that either of the following had to happen to let the 10,100 ticket holders into the Leppings Lane End:
Delay kick off until at least 3:40pm. David Duckenfield ruled this out.

So you have made that claim without even acknowledging that the independent report and coroner clearly stated that there were no, or very few ticketless fans present? Astounding.
I believe they spent days counting fans using cctv and other cameras to come up with this conclusion.
