Watch his foot when he makes contact though. When he goes bottom left, it's a late swivel of the boot.
One thing's for sure; he's deceiving the keeper in some way.
Not a chance. He strokes it in calmly knowing the keeper has gone the wrong way. He's certainly not relying on the keeper being tricked by him looking at the other corner.
The Athletic had a good piece on Toney's penalties last year, with a focus on his switch from a "goalkeeper independent" technique (picking a spot and going for it) to "goalkeeper dependent" (waiting for the GK to move). Since the switch, he hasn't missed.
