Now we've all seen replays, it looks like he did. But at the time, and soon afterwards, no-one realised he had. Not the fans, not the players, and not the TV commentators. No. Going down already, for no real reason.

Yes - that's the scenario posed by @Triggaaar "If one of your players appears to be fouled in the box, and a split second later another player is wiped out - both penalties in the refs view, so he blows his whistle and gives the first one. VAR checks it, the first one isn't a penalty, the second...

Yes - but he didn't 'stop play'. Play had stopped before he blew.

No they wouldn't, not on what's been said here. If he awarded the first one, then that's presumably 'when play stops'?

Where is this law? Law 8 refers to drop balls where the ref stops play. As the ball was already out - he didn't 'stop' play?

However - I do think Chelsea defended quite well.

Worse than that though - it was the other way round. They should have been down to nine men before the penalty.

Maybe not corruption - but explain why Caicedo didn't get one of two blatant second yellows.

Did he award a penalty then? Even if he did the ball was already out.

I really am getting totally fed up with games being decided by completely random and inconsistent decisions. One or two, fair enough - but every single week?

Disgraceful - they should have been down to nine.

Just not much sign of it! When we get a free-kick in their half I assume it will either a) be played sideways/backwards, b) we'll be offside, or c) Dunk will miss.

He's up against Sterling who is in some of his best form for years. Tough for anyone.

Such a soft yellow for Hinshelwood - ref looking to even the numbers up with another soft one later?
