I just don’t see how £35m and nothing more could have come about. If we had some say in what the fee was then there’s no way Tony would have okay’d a fee that low. If we didn’t have any say in the fee at this point because it was a clause in the contract then I don’t see how we would have agreed...
It being a one off fee and no add ons doesn’t make any sense though. That would mean there was nothing really to negotiate & it was just a straight release clause, in which case why have so many journalists said this wasn’t the case and what have they been spending all this time quibbling over...
£35m would be cheap, but I’m sure the clauses for the additional £20m have been made totally achievable. I would have wanted more but £55m is totally fine really & few could have predicted his post World Cup rise in value since the contract was signed.
Yeah seems pretty clear Fab is holding on to the £35m idea and purposely not reporting the add ons that all other journalists and sports publications mention just so he can claim he was right.
The Argus saying “they have been told” the MacAllister deal totals £55m with the add ons. They also quote Ole.com which is a massive Argentina based sports publication which says the deal is worth €60m (roughly £51.5m).
I was reading they’re fine with a loan, but the player wants first team football no matter whether it’s loan or permanent. Subsequently I was thinking could we see a few more loans that usual this summer to cope with the need for an expanded European squad but keep the cost down.
Correct. People need to ignore that Fab guy or realise that his tweets are only half the story based on what an agent has told him.
We have absolutely not sold Mac for £35m. 😅
What seems likely when you read all the varying sources is that £35m is the upfront cost, but with add ons it’s in...
I think we all do, but if the add ons means £55m which seems to be the case, then it’s still decent money. £48m in profit on one player is more incredible business by the club really. & it seems as though this figure has been set by a contract that was signed pre world cup, a point at which...
Yep I’d imagine the difference in this detail that we’re seeing is exactly that. £45m now & but £55m including add ons.
Yes it’s a little lower than we might have hoped, was thinking more like £65m, but it sounds like this is all based on a contract details that was signed pre World Cup & who...
£55m is a bit lower than I would have originally wanted, but seeing how good Alexis has been about all this & we’re allowing him to progress his career it’s a totally fine amount really. £55m in the bank, £48m of which is profit, and we wish him all the best!
