Yep - it's a single queue to get into the ticketing site, regardless of what you want to do once you reach it.
Could be a reasonable wait (ie 10-20 minutes) depending on how lucky you get with your queue slot allocation at 9am.
I've just looked it up. It seems that if you are unable to attend, you may legitimately transfer a ticket for face value or below...
8.4. In the event that you and/or the person(s) intending to accompany you to the Match are unable to use any Ticket then you may transfer the Ticket(s) to...
Others have said that Wembley's Ts&Cs state that the tickets are transferable but only for face value or below, and the club's Ts&Cs for these tickets referred to Wembley's own terms.
I've not has a chance to look into that, but it sounds like you might want to do that.
If you have the ticket in your (phone) wallet, you don't need connectivity. The stadium scanner will read the QR code of the ticket and stadium software will determine whether you get in or not.
But the law of the land precludes selling on of football tickets. As do Albion's Ts&Cs.
I guess the STH guest thing is a slightly grey area in terms of this, as if a STH buys for a mate, the mate is sure to give the STH the money back.
But there is a clear and obvious difference between that...
I think that's a bit unfair.
Priority to buy tickets is the cornerstone benefit of membership, and always has been. You've been able to buy tickets for games without having one, so didn't feel you needed to pay for membership. As I say - entirely reasonable.
But a game has come along where...
You've got by without a membership, but you've also always been aware that membership would give you greater priority. You just didn't feel like that enhanced priority was a benefit worth paying for - entirely understandable.
It's like someone driving around without a seatbelt on. "I've never...
Nah - that's moving the goalposts.
To retrospectively introduce such a rule absolutely would NOT be fair. If you are going to have a "priority for later cup rounds" rule, it has to be announced in advance so people know the rules they are playing by, and can adjust their behaviour to suit, if...
I think there's two main thrusts here...
1. STH guests having priority over those with decent recent purchase history. Yep, as I said above, I completely get this and I agree. I'm not sure why the club went down the line they did, but if the overarching aim is to reward loyalty (and some may...
We've covered this quite a lot.
Pre-window opening, say 9am, everyone is in a virtual "waiting room". It doesn't matter whether you enter that at 8:30 or 8:59 as when the queue is formed at 9:00am, everyone is given a random position, which feels absolutely right.
I'm not sure there has been a lot of complaints.
The main complaint I've seen is that non-members with purchase history were not given a direct opportunity to buy. And, frankly, I can see that argument has merit. Today, as a STH, I bought four guest tickets for people for whom this will be...
Your best bet is to buy them as guest tickets, if you can, and pass to Icy if you are happy with that approach.
A release and catch is not likely to work - someone else will nab them.
STH guest windows below - two tickets per STH...
It's all here: https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/3118110/emirates-fa-cup-semi-final-ticket-information
The actual queue proper doesn't form until 9am, for all those who are in the "waiting room" at that time.
It doesn't matter when you enter the waiting room, your slot in the queue is randomly assigned (I know you know this @Titanic - just repeating it for those who don't!)
Sorry for your plight, but from my email with the club, it is new A+ memberships bought on or after 17th March (ie just over two weeks ago) that are not eligible to buy semi-final tickets.
"A while back for him this year" sounds as though it was longer ago than that. Was it? If so, you should...
