Last time Albion played a semi-final at Wembley, Lineker said to Shearer something along the lines of: "Wouldn't want to play up front for them, Alan..."
(Which wasn't unreasonable, given how uncompetitive we were.)
Just spoke to my dad for the first time in a fortnight or so.
He mentioned Lineker within two minutes.
"Everyone" in Bexhill doesn't like him, apparently. (Not going to write what he actually said)
So that's that, then. :lolol:
We've done this. Lineker didn't compare policies. He compared language.
This holocaust survivor had a problem with the government's language. Lineker was hardly the first to make the comparison...

Interesting story from 1978 about refugees fleeing Vietnam on a battered freighter named Huey Fong.
After some resistance, they were allowed to land at (then) British-ruled Hong Kong...
I assume you don't follow Lineker on Twitter? So where are you hearing his views?
I mean, it's not on Match of the Day, is it? He seems very focussed on sport when on TV.
"Wants to make his name in politics"?! The media picked up on a single Tweet, which might have been forgotten by now.
But the BBC made it lead story on the evening news, Radio 4 etc. The Mail splashed on it all week.
All the amplification came from the right-wing press in an attempt to paint...
Easy to timeshift. Start watching 15min late, skip the chat. Or watch the next morning etc.
Between the BBC, Sky, YouTube and the official site, there's a wide gamut of options.
Sorry, I should have added an emoji. (Now added)
I was taking the piss, imagining a scenario which could potentially be worse for the Tories/Lineker detractors than the current setup...
