[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

I know you've said you won't post in this thread any more (and I will try to follow suit), but as you have accused me of a false narrative I want to respond. You said this Since I only gave two examples: Joan Salter MBE and Professor Tanja Bueltmann, is it wrong of me to think you are...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

Did you go on to spend over 30 years as a 9/11 educator, researcher and historian, chairing a child survivors of 9/11 organisation and have your work and expertise in this area recognised with an MBE? If so, yes. Joan Salter MBE is not just a survivor of the Holocaust. To paint her as such does...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

How does it have nothing to do with it? You're arguing against people claiming what lineker said (language used not dissimiler to 1930s Germany) was accurate by claiming they have no idea what it was like back then. They are two learned people, one who survived the holocaust and has dedicated...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

Well, yeah, sure. If you ignore the multiple references in this thread to Joan Salter MBE - survivor of the Holocaust who confronted Suella Braverman about how her language is similar to that used in 1930s Germany, and German Professor Tanja Bueltmann

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

If the language the government are using isn't similar to the language used by 1930s Germany, why did Holocaust survivor, and lifetime holocaust educator, Joan Salter MBE say it is?

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

I can see Lineker returning. Tweeting out he stands by his tweet, but apologises for the distraction and interruption to this week's MotD (tweeting so that next week they don't have to talk about it too much on the actual show to ensure political neutrality), maybe copied in to a press release...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

He noted in his introduction that he had to be on his game this week, because there's a top football presenter who might be available next week.

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

Do they matter more than actual holocaust survivors such as Joan Salter MBE (the MBE was awarded for dedicating her life to educating people about the holocaust)? https://news.sky.com/story/holocaust-survivor-says-home-secretarys-words-and-actions-are-similar-to-those-of-nazi-germany-12786451...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

The problem with doing that is that while it would seemingly be in defence of/supporting the BBC and/or it's decision, it would put them in the position of needing to cut it out of the Broadcast thus negating showing support in such a way, and leading to the same negative impact on the quality...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

I saw that tweet and wondered: if they don't have the TV commentators, would they be able to use local radio commentary - first thinking Cantor and Aspinall on MotD would be quite a highlight for them (as much as the circumstances allow), then wondering if they would also refuse to commentate...

[Football] Gary Lineker to step back from presenting MOTD

Comparing the language used by the government on immigration and asylum seekers to 1930s Germany... I wonder what survivors of the holocaust would think of that? Oh, wait, we know, don't we? It was only a month ago this happened...
