[Albion] Albion to launch matchday travel scheme review

I hope so too, the vast majority of young people I know use the train to get to the game, and the age demographic of the board is very much older.

[Albion] Albion to launch matchday travel scheme review

When its possible Southern do try their best to provide the service, I think there's an idea that they are providing the bare minimum on matchday. But when improvements can be made they do, it just isn't always possible, if trains aren't safe as they are too overcrowded, there are investigations.

Yes, there are fines for short formed trains, although I believe on that line the services are required to be 4 car for Hastings/Ore services and 3 car for Seaford, so there are extra carriages being added for those services.

Yeah I agree its not perfect solution, but at least would make it fairer the other way round, that was my thinking, I just don't see a huge issue with the travel scheme, that it encourages the use of sustainable transport to the stadium which no other club in the league has.

I know how the key works, hows that meant to work on matchday, like some have said in this thread they don't even check tickets at all on matchday. The Queue is incredibly slow so this would make it even worse, as every person would have to be checked, theres no benefit for Southern staff to...

No the minimum service they have to provide for matchdays is what the minimum service is for the line, which is 4 trains per hour, they provide 6 trains per hour. The contract is a mess really, anything they make as profit goes to the government, it a terrible contract but thats the GB Rail...

Coventry - Brand new train station built next door, but West Midlands railway can’t provide a safe service so it’s closed every match day. Manchester United - Tram Queues are a nightmare packed in like sardines Manchester City - The Same

The placement student at my work is doing his dissertation on the train service to our ground (along with two others) funnily enough, I’m doing an interview for him next week as I’ve been to all three by rail. There cannot be more train services without a massive signalling upgrade sadly. The...

Is there any football ground in the country that doesn’t have a shitty sardine service to it? Like what are people expecting, seats for all on every train, that just isn’t realistic.

You’d be amazed at the price of a new bus, Caicedo would probably bus us 4 lol.

Yes the DfT is a complete shitshow, I just don’t see how Southern can improve the Brighton - Falmer - Lewes service at this point. I get peoples frustration with matchday service on other lines, but we get a very good service really for a football stadium. After going to Coventry on Sunday...

[Albion] Albion to launch matchday travel scheme review

Ah yes, Brighton to Lewes, famously operated by Diesel powered stock. Rolling stuck under repair that can’t be improved unless the DfT fund new stock which isn’t happening. The decision that class 171s were moved to East Midlands was taken out of the hands of the TOCs and was dictated by the...

Southern lose money on this, this isn’t a lucrative revenue stream, if there’s no engineering works elsewhere they actually lose quite significant money. Southern cannot physically add anymore carriages to the service, no matter how many people come up with a magic planning alternative on North...

[Albion] Albion to launch matchday travel scheme review

We probably have the best travel scheme anywhere in the league, will be interesting to see how they can improve it, I imagine it will be making it optional again, as the minority who park at the ground will say they don't want to pay and then the vast majority buy it anyway. I do think parking...
