Marstons in Burton has gone down the nick as well, Burton Bridge Brewery beers are still lovely but you have to be in a 40 mile radius of Burton-on-Trent to find them (outside of Beer Festivals).
Er, no... K&B Bitter was an average session brew but both of their Summer and Old Ales were superb.
Christmas Ale in bottles was also lovely if a little moreish at 8% or so...
Can't believe it was 22 years ago they closed down.
Apparently they will still be brewing the same beers down at Burton, I'm sure that they will taste the same as well, just like the Hall and Woodhouse versions of K&B Beers.
Oh, they don''t do them any more do they?
It certainly isn't a Micro, they bought the old K&B Bottling Plant and have just installed a Canning Line.
I Reckon they must do volumes close to what K&B were doing at the end.
As an aside I did the K&B Ale Trail when I moved down to Sussex in 1995. K&B had around 60 tied houses back...
Have you driven up the A29 lately? The Hepworths Brewery is at least as large as Dark Star was. Arundel doing OK and there are a fair few Craft Breweries around RH20.
Dark Star should have never got into bed with Fullers, it was only going to go one way...
