Well that's a whole new topic isn't it, are Premier League officials up to making crucial decisions when it comes to awarding spot kicks and making offside decisions etc?
Knowin for the last few seasons that they can now rely on VAR confirming, or correcting thei decisions, has made them lazy.
Well if that is the case, ( and l am not saying that it isn't), then why haven't these measures been put in place already?
It has been pretty clear that since VAR was implemented that few clubs, (never mind managers), wanted it.
I'm not sure that the quality of the goalkeeper he had to beat was any higher though. Danny Ward doesn't impress me at all. Mind you Caspar Schmeichel was one hell of an act to follow.
I argued for scrapping it from day one. If something aint broke why try and fix it? Yes ok, so on field referees, linesman et al made mistakes when the decisions were left to them, but hey ho so are the officials in the VOR at Stockley Park.
This has been a truly terrible weekend of football...
