Hmmm. This whole Steele or Sanchez thing has become a bit divisive now.
I long for the old days when the manager just choose the better goalkeeper - which is Sanchez.
I agree , Sanchez's reach makes him the better shot stopper. Steele would not have saved the Rashford effort , it's not his fault but he is shorter. I felt both goals conceded at Elland Road would have been stopped by Sanchez. I do think Steele may have stopped one of the penalties as he would...
RDZ missed a trick today. Sanchez was great in the game but should have been subbed off in the last few minutes of extra time for Steele. Steele is a proven penalty saver while Big Bob ...well. It would have been a brave move and taken "Big Balls" but we might have won if it had been done.
Steele was excellent on Saturday but I think Matty Ryan has done for me with "smaller" goalkeepers, they make me nervous. I don't imagine Jason will be coming out to the centre spot and plucking corners from the air (but Sanchez gave up doing that as well).
I would stick with Steele unless he...
I wouldn't want to discourage Sanchez but I do think his form has dropped this season , today was a real shocker . Plus he no longer comes out to claim the ball , when he broke into the team he sometimes came out past the penalty spot to claim catches - that doesn't happen anymore. I don't think...
Yes Sanchez needs to be pushed for his place. He is going through a terrible run of form and confidence. It can't be easy for the defence to have him playing like this .
His kicking has dropped off but he is without doubt the best goalie we have at the moment. I expect the Club would like to improve on our existing players in many positions.
