You can exchange as late as the same day of completion. To anyone buying a property my advice would be to look around the property just before exchange and if you can on the morning of completion.

I’m guessing you visited the property on the morning of exchange? Any decent solicitor would advise you to do this. It’s worth doing day before completion too.
