We saw them on Jools (I think), and were blown away by them, as is Alexis Petridis. I also think they were on the bill at End of the Road, and withdrew, but I can forgive EotR because they also had Durand Jones on the bill, who was delightful -- not quite as delightful as Ural Thomas though...
Haven't heard Nina (no, not that one) in a long while, and this explains why. A troubling yet not despairing read:

It's probably too early to say but, at present, Ants from Up There by BC, NR is sounding like an album of the decade for me.
Recently got and am enjoying immensely the new outings from Big Thief and Binker & Moses.
I'm just giving it my first spin, and it's a delight. Bread Song is delightful (vivid memory of them playing it live) and, to me, sounds not unlike Lift to Experience (only better).
Yes, those are my three favourites. They were probably before your time, but used to really like the Freebutt and Hanbury Ballroom which, like your list, served very different purposes/styles.
I'm looking forward to it too, and heard a few of the songs when they played at End of the Road, which all sounded good. Thanks for the tip about the singer, who was also their guitarist. Think they'll sound very different without him.
I'm not entirely convinced. Saw them in-store at Resident last Sunday, and also The Bug Club at The Albert two days ago, and the latter did it far more for me.
I was thinking of you when I posted on the gigs thread that Imarhan are playing the Green Door Store.
I think you might like Binker & Moses too. I'll be livid if you don't!

Yard Act, Binker & Moses, and Black Country, New Road all either out or imminent. Suspect there will be a few others, but those are the ones on my radar for now.
