Good post above, you obviously know your heating controls.
The Nest has a setting called True Radiant, one we shut this off it switches on and off as the programme we have set, no more being too hot overnight.

Thanks for the advice but I have got the Nest system which is slightly different to the Hive.
I am a plumber but don’t wire up heating controls, I work in many homes changing radiators and most customers with the Hive seem happy with the way it works.

I find it a little confusing after having a normal room thermostat for years. My wife has an app on her iPad for this system which is useful for adjusting the heating, I haven’t bothered with this.
Controlling the hot water is really good, never had an issue with the on and off times.
I’ve got a Nest, apart from the actual thermostat looking the part the Nest system seems to have a complete mind of it’s own :shrug:
