    It’s an opportunity cost rather than an actual cost and is a drop in the ocean of football finance. The more revenue generated by PL clubs the more they dole out to players, coaches and administrators so it’s wasted anyway.

    I don’t think the statement about 9000 tickets can be dismissed quite so lightly. People have made plans basis this being mentioned. Not the first time this season either. The club is rightly praised when things go well so should expect the flak when it doesn’t. You have mentioned elsewhere...

    So why are they doing it, in your opinion ? At best it looks like really poor organization to announce one day we can take 9000 tickets then a couple of days later announce a 5700 sell out. Personally I didn’t think this would sell but it has and the club didn’t give it a chance.

    We don’t all have to share this someone’s love of London. I prefer Liverpool but am fine with other people preferring London. I will be enjoying this game on tv. Quite looking forward to it actually as there seems to have been a renewal in interest in the cup this season.

    Would the coaches need to be heavily subsidized to compete with the cost of rail travel ? The train always seems an expensive option to me which is the reason we go by car to games.

    A lot of posters are claiming there will be a massive demand for tickets so it is unlikely they will sell for less than PL prices.
