[NSC] ID required to enter the Amex

I seriously doubt a steward at the Amex is going to be looking at the expiry date on a passport…! Won’t even cross their minds to.

Don’t think the comparison works. Breaking the speed limit comes with guaranteed personal consequences if caught. Scanning a QR code and self reporting has zero consequence to the person involved. Hopefully you’re right.

Yeah, but whether they want to be seen to be back-tracking or not, they don’t have the majority on this one so they’ll have to IMO!

But it’s just a policy proposal. They need Parliament for it to be law.

Fair enough, but you did point to my general opposition to the measures! Just don’t think they do anything of use, is all.

Mate, what is it with you and saying I’m trying to ‘game the system’ with my ‘general opposition’?! I was just pointing out the floors, which are hardly rocket science. I’m double jabbed. I’ve explained my reasoning behind why I think LFTs will continue in other posts.

Yes, if Parliament approves it, and there’s no majority for a no testing allowed policy. There also won’t be a majority for extending covid emergency powers around the same time if the government don’t budge on no testing. Interesting debate and I know where I’d put my money but we’ll only find...

[NSC] ID required to enter the Amex

People seem to forget that ‘the Government’ can’t just make things law without a Parliamentary vote. Their emergency powers legislation will need extending further for them to be able to circumvent Parliament and with vaccine passports being a political hot potato, and with Starmer having called...

I’m not arguing for anything, just pointing out the obvious flaws in the system, which I think will continue to be in place from October.

Pretty certain the Government will concede on the no jab no entry position and allow for LFTs too from October. To be fair, given 90%+ of adults in the Amex will have been jabbed and the majority of your visit is outdoors there’s really not that much risk in the stadium. Was just pointing out...

Exactly. Responsible folk will be responsible and the irresponsible will be irresponsible, because the system in place makes it easy to be. The net impact of these measures will be zero. But in fairness the club are damned if they do and damned if they don’t on this one.

Please don’t presume that’s what I want saying. I clearly didn’t say that. If unvaccinated by choice, people are likely to just self report a negative result and walk on in. They won’t even take the test, just scan the QR code. I know of loads of people who’ve done this since LFTs were brought...

Sorry but these measures do absolutely nothing to enhance safety. All someone needs to do is scan the QR code on the lateral flow test and self report a negative test for their Covid pass.
