It’s all a bit frustrating but the degree of hyperbole, fury and general anger being expressed by some is quite surprising. Agree it’s a bit of a faff but if that’s what we have to do until this thing is fully under control and we’ve learned to live with it then putting up with it to actually...
But they do....because the vast majority will comply with them and not try to selfishly game the system. Compare with, say, drink driving laws or speed limits.......they don't prevent drunk driving or speeding happening, but the majority don't abuse them or find ways round them.
A free season ticket to sit with them both…..but you have to make sure they get to the ground, comply with all the rules and provide transport, plus answer any questions they have. Might not be much fun but you’ll have the eternal gratitude of everyone else one here as some form of satisfaction :)
Absolutely this. 90% of people being vaccinated will mean we can manage the virus generally. Similarly, 90% (it’ll be more the vast majority are compliant) of people following the (simple) rules and not trying to get round them means matches can operate safely with full grounds.
Temporary measure until your Covid pass is directly linked to your season ticket I reckon (after the Government insist on two jabs for entry to sporting events)
Opne Golf was a ‘test event’ with 75% capacity - there were no ID checks, Covid pass was very loosely checked on entry (easy to get round this using a screenshot of someone else’s result) , entrance ticket was on phone through an app (had to be)…….
I understood the club accept virtually any form of photo ID. Anyone struggling could just take a passport pic and completed form into a railway station and get a railcard (or do it by post). They make them up on the spot.
May not be as easy as it was, but it really isn’t difficult either. Worst case it’s :
-ST in google wallet
-covid cert on NHS app or pdf/letter
-driving licence in pocket
So…all I need to remember is to take my phone, where I keep my driving licence photocard and contactless debit card.
I really don’t get why it is confusing? Bring photo ID with you, unless you’re a kid. Simple. If for some reason you are in the tiny % that don’t have a driving licence, passport, work photo ID, bus pass, rail card or similar then call supporter services
Also, I’m expecting further...
I’d read that as meaning sales of match day tickets (ie tickets at full price rather than the discounted ST price) - if not, I’d agree. Average spend per matchgoer on other stuff will be nowhere near the ticket price….
Can’t believe the number of people getting so wound up about a quick flash...
This. Not sure why people are so worried about it. It takes a couple of seconds (only longer if you're stupid enough to get to the checkpoint and not have your ticket and ID ready despite all the signs telling you)
