Possibly, but if say 5% are taking the piss and going into the ground without the right docs, and then 5% of that 5% are actually positive….and you’re wearing your mask and generally keeping your distance, and have been jabbed and boosted, then your chances of being exposed to someone positive...

It’s the prospect of getting checked, plus the appearance of random checks, that means the vast majority comply. A small % of selfish turds circumventing the system and risking not getting in or losing their season tickets doesn’t change that, nor materially impact the risk for those attending.

It’s not a tick-box exercise, they are sample checking - which should be a sufficient-enough control to ensure a high level of compliance. I guess a few might risk turning up without a pass or negative test but the vast majority won’t risk being turned away.

The number of deaths and hospitalisations relative to the number of infections has been massively reduced - broadly, infection numbers are at a level now similar to, say, December 2020 but at that points deaths were 500+ per day, not 100 or so per day we are seeing now.

I see them every day…….pushing past in Tesco or other shops with no mask or social distancing, making no effort to distance on pavements etc even when there is acres of room. Selfish and ignorant.

I’d rather attend the football knowing the vast majority (accepting a few selfish ****s will try to circumvent the system) there are double-jabbed or negative tested…….so quite happy the club are implementing procedures to make this happen. More or less a ‘safe place’ as far as I am concerned...

No single country has 90% fully vaccinated

Being double jabbed significantly reduces your chances of catching it, makes it less likely you’ll pass it on to others and most importantly massively reduces your chances of ending up dead from it. It doesn’t mean you won’t catch it.
