In your opinion …. Potter clearly thinks differently about how he uses his players. Has used Mac there several times already and don’t forget Biss didn’t start out as a CDM he has progressed into that role. Could well be that Potter can do that with one of the midfielders we already have.

I’m not sure we needed to replace Biss, we have a number of excellent midfielders who are more than up to the task of playing at this level. We need to replace Cucurella with 2 players I believe, one to play the LCB role (guess Colwill fills that option) and another to play LB and LWB when...

They can leave then…. Although I doubt that’s is their stance. Both Van Hecke and Roberts aren’t up to PL football yet it seems so they need to continue to develop. I’d rather lose them than play them when they aren’t up to it.

Loan means more cash for Cucurella I guess. I’m not bothered tbh, we can’t be too fussy and turn down a decent player and then be left with no one as the window shuts. This gives us security if we fail to land any LB targets before the window shuts whilst maximising the fee we get.

I thought that before the Chelsea interest. I’m not sure if we have turned down £50m plus he will really be the same player he was last season.

Whilst I agree with some of what you say, Cucurella wasn’t playing as a LB or a LWB for the last 10 or so games of the season, he was used as a LCB with Trossard playing as more of a wingback. I agree we need to replace him but I’d argue that we need a LCB who is able to get forward if required...

If we are going to replace him with a LCB which I understand as that’s where he ended the season. Any chance of meeting the release clause for Cornet ?

He has binned off his dad as his agent this week. Whether that means we will pursue him again remains to be seen. Either way with no preseason he is going to be weeks away from first team action

He isn’t a child ….. it’s been his choice to hand in the transfer request. Could argue they are just doing their job in trying to help him make the move happen. Agents are utter ****’s but players are as much to blame in situations like this.

Completely agree ….. if we had perhaps turned down £45m I could have seen his frustration. But when we have only turned down a fee which was less than the player they want him to replace I think both him and his advisors are acting like pricks

If we were turning down an acceptable fee we might look like we are holding players back. No one will see this currently as the club doing that … £30m is a joke offer and everyone apart from City and Cucarella can see that.

IF he has handed one in then he is a joke. Bidding hasn’t even gone above £30m yet so hardly being unreasonable.

So Romano is in the know because he was told a bid was going in and he has kept repeating it over and over again for 6 weeks. Surely if he was ITK he would have said nothing until yesterday.

Romano has some agents on his pocket so he always has information. If the deal is something to do with those agents he looks a bit more in the know, if he doesn’t then it’s just hearsay. I think on this occasion he is no where near the deal and is just passing on second or third hand...
