Which completely contradicts what BHA were publically saying last weekend, ie "50m+ or don't even bother to come knocking".
No way was TB holding out for £37m. That is utter bobbins.
Barcelona have just signed Kounde from Sevilla for €55m on a 5 year deal, and have put a €1 BILLION (£840m) release clause in his contract. A billion euros.
After this whole tedious saga, I wonder if Tony will consider putting a hefty release clause in on promising new signings, to keep...
Yeah nobody else in the studio today thankfully. Sinclair is an absolute helmet.
How Agbonlahore gets a job there also baffles me. Talk about stealing a living.
And they're pricing him at £50m now, after Juventus came sniffing.
£50m for a bloke who is 4 years older than Cucurella, and who has barely kicked a ball for a year. Yet they come to us with £30m.
Its clown college stuff.
Is that for real ?
If so, I'm seriously pissed off with Cucurella and his leaching agent. That is hugely disrespectful.
[edit]
Just realised its Cucurellas initials on the shirts, not City's training top
As you were.
To be honest I don't follow transfer speculation all that closely, because I generally find it quite dull. So I'm not very "ITK" about who is supposedly "ITK" - I'd never even heard of this Romano bloke before this summer. I dunno why you're making it a cock-waving contest between Naylor and...
That would certainly change the dynamic.
Interest from City is bound to be a head-turner for any player, but he seems very happy and settled here, and (to me) doesn't seem "the type" to start making ructions. I would also assume that following his outstanding debut 'player-of-the-season' season...
Do you honestly think that The Athletic would have bothered head-hunting and employing a journalist who has built a long career on just cutting & pasting other journalists stories ?
Really ?
Bid WHAT though ?
Cucurella is under contract until 2026, which means City will have to come up with an almighty bid of £50m+ (with add-ons) just to get their foot in the door. I am very confident of TB paying hardball with this, and City will naturally have potential alternative targets who...
The acid test will come if Zinchenko moves to Arsenal, which going by widespread reports is close to being a done-deal. City will apparently trouser around £30m-£35m from that.
Expect an incoming if/when that happens.
You don't have to convince me how good he is chap. But comparing him to Grealish (an established England international forward in his prime) is looney tunes. Fullbacks just do not go for £80-£100m, especially one's who have had just had ONE season in the PL.
Realistically if City table a £50m...
Market rates are market rates. City clearly have the capacity to spend whatever they want, but at the same time aren't prepared to have their pants pulled down on a deal. Grealish was overpriced IMO, but on the whole, they do stay well within the realms and parameters of market values.
He's great for us. But in no parallel universe could Cucurella be possibly be priced at £100m. What on earth are you basing that on ? He's had one great season for a midtable PL club, and has 1 cap for his country. We all love him to bits, but lets get real eh ?
I'd obviously rather have...
