That makes for interesting reading. If we can look beyond the position the player is stood in we can see that nobody on our team is as good at ball recovery/turnovers as Bissouma. That’s where my concern lies, I don’t mind if our ‘CDM’ is positioned in a midfield 2,3,4 or 5, wether they’re lined...
Out of curiosity when was the quote dated? As things stand* the first XI I’d obviously far weaker and we don’t have a left back.
*assuming Cucu has gone.
When Biss joined we had Stephens, an experienced CDM. We now don’t have one. That’s all I’m saying, we don’t have a player who has really had a consistent amount of game time playing that position. I find that a touch worrying seeing as Bissouma was our best player and his absence is clearly...
Maybe, but any of our current players would be a project, that seems unnecessarily risky when trying to cover for a player of Bissouma’s talent. Obviously we can’t just stroll and buy a carbon copy but I’d feel more comfortable if we signed someone who has played more than a handful of games in...
Unlikely, surely? I know you can circle them both as central midfielders but they play very different roles. We have an abundance of CMs but none that you’d define as CDM which was Bissouma’s role.
Just my opinion but it’s only a good deal if we actually sign some first team players, losing your 2 best players in one window is pretty bad, not having replacements is irresponsible. I also don’t think that it’s particularly fair on Potter.
I’ve fought a good fight on Twitter but I’ve run out of energy, City fans are a blinkered bunch delusional *****. They haven’t got their way so are desperately trying to insult the club. It would have been fitting if they had named one of their stands the (Colin) Bell End.
Two completely different scenarios though, Cucurella doesn’t have 1 year left on his contract. If we can sell Ben White to Arsenal for £50m I’m quite sure the club can negotiate a proper deal for Cucurella.
