Agree - I still think he has/had the potential to be a better foil for Maupay than Welbeck (who was poor yesterday), but we’ll never know. I also don’t really get the angst over this thread either. Whether or not we were interested, it was widely reported in the press that we were, and it would...
It’s very possible he could fail there and still have been a success here. Harry Kane would struggle to get 20 goals from the number of chances they create…
I think this is right. I still think he would have been a good fit for us (footballing wise), and probably better than for Palace, who create fewer chances. But it sounds like he’ll have got his £85k a week, and it’s right we don’t pay that. I do think at some point we will need to raise our...
Depends what they’re paying him really. But generally I agree, whilst he’s a punt, I think people are putting too much emphasis on his recent performances when his head/heart hasn’t been it, Duffy-style. He could be a very good PL striker.
That’s us out then (if we were ever in). I’m in the camp that he’s what we need, and worried we have all our eggs in a Nunez shaped basket, but hey ho.
Either: we’re not interested OR: we’re playing the long game and hoping Celtic’s price drops as the alternatives fall away (vs getting nothing next year) AND his wage demands drop as his alternatives fall away (Roma, Villa, Saints), as they sign other options. West Ham probably most likely.
I agree with all of this, but I’d argue there’s two problems there that are hard (or impossible) to coach: 1) our side, especially Maupay and Trossard, are not clinical finishers, and 2) we lack pace in our front line (Welbeck apart maybe) and in wide areas when Lamptey isn’t playing. It seems...
It’s only a few months since Celtic fans were laughing at the idea that Edouard would consider joining little old Brighton, as he was far too good for us. Fickle lot. Glad NSC isn’t like that :lolol:
Calm down dear. I wasn’t specifically talking about your comment. There are a lot of people expecting/hoping Andone will play a big part this year. I can’t understand why a player deemed surplus to requirements by Potter will now be a key squad player having done nothing in the interim other...
Completely this. Astonishes me people don’t understand this. The only way we head this queue is by paying a fee. If he goes on a free the wage offers he will get will blow us out the water. As for the fee, here’s a selection of comparisons of what strikers of a similar age have cost in the last...

“That's a real opportunity. Edouard goes for the side-foot and gets it all wrong. A huge chance.”
Sounds like he’s already been working with our shooting coaches.
It’s not only this example, but he’s very self-important. In this case: ‘Oh, the mere suggestion that someone would tell me what to do is so preposterous’. I also don’t think he’s ever written anything remotely interesting, but that’s another matter.
