Well, maybe we weren't, maybe we were. But he's a decent player, was attainable by us at the time and in a position where we're obviously short of numbers. If we weren't in for him we should have been.

I don't think so, not least as he doesn't appear to be in training, but the previous poster is right. He was a poor value signing, but far from the worst we've ever had. £13m for a PL striker represents a very hopeful punt and they will fail to come off more often that they do.
