I don't know how old you are but once upon a time the then chairman thought it was a good idea to not be financially prudent, signing players on 10 year contracts that then looked stupid when we got relegated. That was the catalyst for our spiral down to almost non existence.
The club aren't...
Someone's bitter!!
Surely all players are doing that but only some are talented enough to actually move on. The exception is probably Dunk, playing for his home town club.
Assuming it's true, think it is a bad move for White in terms of footballing career but who knows how much he'll be earning now, certainly more than anyone at Brighton. However, it is an excellent deal for us. £50m for our third choice centre back, what's not to like.
There's a load of garbage being posted all over the place about the fact they took their medals off. I didn't watch the presentations but I'm guessing none of them disposed of the medals, just didn't want to wear them at that time.
He'd be mad to go to Utd. As for Liverpool, they have Joe Gomez who'll be back from injury and partnering VVD. That's not saying Liverpool and Utd aren't options, I just think he'll end up at Citeh.
I think he'll end up at Citeh. Foden in an interview highlighted Ben White as the player in the squad who's impressed him most and I suspect that won't go unnoticed by the hierarchy at the Etihad. They're probably getting reports from Stones, Walker and Sterling.
Also probably the best team...
Possibly because this is a Brighton forum. That said, they've still produced a helluva number of players, Lallana, Bale, Walcott, Shearer, to name a few. So not quite sure why their academy is 'not what it is cracked up to be'. If you are critical of them dumping White and Mings then others...
It's up to the selling club to agree the terms. I believe Leicester demanded and got the whole fee for Maguire up front. I suspect Nantes wished they'd done the same in sad business of Sala.
Isn't this sort of deal exactly part of the reason why we have the academy?
Add in that we will hardly be weakened by him leaving, it's a no brainer. The only disappointing element is that, as yet, there doesn't appear to be a bidding war to push the price up even further. That said, possible...
