Didn’t want him to leave but he is replaceable & £50m (plus a sell on percentage of next sale) is fantastic business for us. We could feasibly replace him for free with Ostigard and now afford Cucurella/Livramento/Striker.
At least that guy has spoken with a little bit of truth regarding us not actually naming a price for BW, rather than all these fake statements that get said by other reporters as if they have some secret dialogue with Tony. Whats becoming clear is that we are in such a great position with this...
If we are to lose him then hopefully this interest from City and Everton is true. If Arsenal's opening bids are to be believed then they have set the bench mark at the beginning of a bidding war, meaning the £45-50m from the Gooners could be the minimum we receive.
Not saying it won’t happen eventually... but this all stinks of Ben’s pushy agent. Sky sports saying it’s basically done and Argus saying simply not true. Someone’s telling porkies.
Agree the fee first, then personal terms. Unless in the last 6 months of a contract. Anything outside of that is tapping up. So i'd say that tweet is prime bullshit
This is one of the latest things doing the rounds on twitter...
#Arsenal are set to submit a second bid in the region of £45m for Brighton's Ben White. #BHAFC want £50m for the England international but there is hope a compromise can be reached!!
Hope a compromise can be reached? Sorry but why...
All this Arsenal talk on transfers does seem odd. They're never usually linked with so many. If you believe the papers Arsenal are going to sign White, Bissouma, Maddison, Ramsdale, Ryan, Odegaard, Lokonga, Onana, Aarons, and Neves.
Some are a bit thick.
Some have little idea how the transfer world works
Some are brainwashed with years of their team usually getting what they want to know any different
Some conveniently spin a transfer story in favour of their club, exaggerating the worth of their own players and downplaying...
I dont want to lose Ben White, but if selling him meant we kept Biss, and had £50m+ added to our transfer kitty then i'd consider it. £50m from the sale of BW, plus whatever was originally in our transfer budget, plus anything from the sales of Ryan/AJ/Duffy etc could mean we have something like...
Does Ben White want to go to Arsenal? Mid table Arsenal. Its obviously a step up from us surely he could see that if he holds out for better offers or had another good season with us then it'll be City/Liverpool/United/Chelsea making offers.
The relevance being that Southgate previously seems to have focused on Mings and Coady as defensive options, ignoring players from other teams, and initially BW inclusion seemed a curve ball, but as each day of England training passes im sure BW will creep up the pecking order as his quality is...
The naive thinking seems to have been that because Aston Villa are mid table and Brighton are 16/17th then Mings must be better than White and Dunk. The brief time that Mings and White have now spent as part of the England squad now seems to be swaying that opinion
Half a hand up. Said to friends that I thought one day, long in future, he had England potential, but certainly did not expect it so soon. My thoughts were that if Mings, and Coady can play for England, and John Stones could be considered one of the best the country has available then surely...
Just saying that he knew BW had all the attributes needed for a defender, but maybe had one slight worry about if he was physical enough until in a game he smashed through El-Abd with a big challenge. After that he wasnt worried.
The more time BW spends with the England squad the more chance he has of game time, only a matter of time before Southgate realises how far ahead of Mings that Ben is.
