    Not any Everton fans I know or have spoken to and that’s quite a few. On the fence is as far as most will go.

    They see him as a squad option. If it helps give some flavour (and it is only anecdotal) the conversations I have had suggest they like his effort but want better.

    He’s not in the team. He doesn’t like it. Nothing unusual in that. He still has a big part to play, just not every week. And for those saying we look so much better since he has been out of the team I would say we can’t rely on Welbeck’s fitness so the current line up is not long term...

    But isn’t that how squad development works ? Players come and go. BHA are only looking to improve, regardless of which millionaire gets given a contract. I certainly don’t feel sentimental about football players but I would keep him for more pragmatic reasons. He is another option.

    There’s not much point in blaming Maupay. I suspect he is burdened by expectation and just hasn’t made the step up. Needs to be a support striker, not the main event.
