[Football] Chris Hughton: 'It’s a good feeling to be the manager of a big club'

Blimey, the last few posts seem to be trying to rewrite history! Of course it isn't 100% down to the manager but it is most certainly the vast majority of it. Players don't down tools just because they have a personality clash and let's be honest, CH doesn't have a track record of overseeing...

[Football] Chris Hughton: 'It’s a good feeling to be the manager of a big club'

Football didn't start in 1992. CH is the second manager to take us to the top flight. I am probably what you call a GP follower in respect of managers but I was here long before CH and will hopefully be here long after GP has moved on.

Bit harsh. Manager decides tactics, picks the teams and has to motivate them.

He's never going to get the Ireland job after this.

[Football] Chris Hughton: 'It’s a good feeling to be the manager of a big club'

I sat through those seasons as well. The last two in the championship were brilliant but I can't agree that the only bad spell was the last half of the last season. Pretty much every away game in the EPL, most of which I sat through, were dire. There were of course some highlights, eg West...

I remember that being the case in the premier league, but not in the championship.

Not sure I'd agree that Hughton had a significant part of everything that happened off the pitch. The Academy was opened the year he joined so all the plans were in place before his appointment. Where he did make a difference was on the pitch plus of course he was excellent in being the...

[Football] Chris Hughton: 'It’s a good feeling to be the manager of a big club'

People seem to think CH will do with Forest what he did with us. What they seem to forget is the Bloom factor. Forest, I believe, are owned by a Greek who also owns Olympiakos. I wonder where his priority will be? Also, his estimated worth is $640m which I would hazard a guess is considerably...

Inclined to agree with you. Find it quite bizarre that some are relate to a three ex players rather than those now wearing the shirt. I suspect part of the issue for them is the fact that for most of the last 12 months we haven't been able to see the current crop.

Really, no idea! Not sure if there is an element of sarcasm ther but if not, surely based on the criteria you used for Forest being a big club then surely top of the list is Liverpool, 6 European/champions league wins, 19 league titles etc etc.

Surely depends on what criteria you're using? Forest had a golden 6/7 year spell but hadn't done too much outside that period. I'll be intrigued to see which clubs you included in your top 1)!
