Indeed, l don't think that the reason for Forest's dismal performances can be laid 100% at Hughton's door. Irrespective of how good or bad a manager can be, if the players dont agree with the tactics, or don't like that man as a person, then it is never going to work.
On another day, at...
Don't expect Forest to grace the Premier League yet awhile. I'm not saying Steve Cooper hasn't started to turn things around, because yes of course he has, but it's still very early days, green shoots and all that, plus a touch of new manager syndrome perhaps.
Lets revisit this and see how they...
Well at sixty odd he doesn't need the day to day stress of managing a club side anymore, he has done everything that it was possible to do, and has nothing to prove to anyone.
Surely now would be the ideal time to step away from it all.
Becoming? I think it happened a while back. Sad really as he was monumental for us in getting us into the Premier League, then keeping us there.
But once that was achieved it was time to try someone else with different ideas.
Retire Chris, get to know the wife and family all over again, and...
Don't worry, sad though it is, he will be put out of his misery soon. Obviously it's for hime to decide what he wants to do once the almost inevtiable axe has fallen, but for me the Forest job was just one too many.
At nearly 63 he has more than done his bit, he should be tending his roses...
All based on supposition, as is usually the case on here. How do we really know what goes on behind the scenes at any club, including our own?
For all that we know many of those involved at Forest, and pulling the strings, are decent people too If the team simply isn't good enough on the...
All too easy to say that it was a bad choice with the benefit of hindsight. I don't recall anyone saying that on here when he was appointed!
People seem quck to forget that all wasn't well on the pitch when he took over at the Albion either, after the ill fated Hyppia regime. The big...
Maybe he is thinking that this will be his last job in football, who knows? After all he is 63, closing in on his OAP, and his carpet slippers might be looking ever more attractive.
Nothing lasts forever.
Went back to work too soon? He was out of work for some considerable time between the Albion dismissal and taking the Forest job.
The guy is well into his 60's anyway, and couldn't wait for ever.
Where exactly has he picked Forest up from then? yes ok they are faring a little bit better since Chris took over, but not massively so, and aren't completely safe from relegation yet.
As you say though, the time element is the key, and Forest's owner hasn;t got a very good record in giving his...
Well we'll never know whether that was true or not, you are assuming with the extra player on the pitch we would have gone on to score another goal. It might not have happened anyway.
I think l'd bet against it, yes he has probably steered Forest to safety, but they still aren't that good, and promotion is a long way off yet. A lot of work to do in the summer.
Seeing how long recent previous incumbents have been given at the helm, l wouldn't hold to much hope for Chris, unless he starts to turn things around quickly next season.
Glenn ONLY 37? crikey l find it truly amazing how he is still holding down at such a high level of football at such an...
