Maybe take for granted just how good he is sometimes, a damn site better than many CB's inc David Luiz and Harry Maguire........ that block at 7:35 is nuts.
Good point, though what do you make of the lack of Dunk in any of the new kit/new season commercial photos?
Dunk is the captain, player of the year, he's mr Brighton and he's always in these things.
Looks like something is up? club hedging bets, an understanding he can go this close season...
I reckon its crap, they've even said amount White has been offered and allegedly turned down is 25k/pw, and that Potter will assess him first in pre season before deciding whether to offer him up to 50k PW.
Where the hell does he get that from?, to think Potter, Bloom or White has told him that...
No, you're just being argumentative! Like I said, Albion players that are good enough to be desired by those considerably further up the food chain are rare. 95%+ are not. But when that rarity has happened (like Ulloa) the club has been good to them. Just because Hemed, Jamie Murphy, Spanish...
Totally agree with you, and our points are not mutually exclusive. There will always be players, like CMS or Kayal where our level is about as good as they could ever get. I'd agree that Ryan and possibly Webster? Maybe at the ceiling of what's achievable...... But if we go down, there will be...
No mate, I can see how you interpreted what I wrote in (3), but that's not the context I meant
I don't think for one second we are or we will be top 4, I meant that there will be tacit understandings, I'd guess with most players. If we go down and they are better than championship, i.e dunk...
Great post, and youre spot on. For all the talk of club flatly refusing, because technically they could. There is a real politik to all this. One Dunk has given club a decade of service, a model pro, this is not sideways, this would be a clear career advancement and they wouldn't stop him for 3...
I'm sure they'd want to keep both, but in Dunks case, Bloom/Albion are also good in allowing people to go if a higher opportunity presents. And with Dunks service, I just don't see the club blocking it (even if technically they could hold him to contract)
They'd understand his stage of Career...
Hard to differentiate of which player would be the bigger loss (assuming White steps up). obvs, Dunk is much more of a present loss as our captain and star defender, but White potentially has years more and could even be better in the long term.
If we had to lose one, what is worse...
He's worth a lot more than 5 million. I tend to agree, that he's not so great at PL level, but he's torn it up in each championship loan and you'd have championship clubs biting your hand off for 15 oddil million.
Abraham is another similar to Knocky, top championship player, not so great at...
I agree, and with what hans kraay fan club says too.
No doubt Dunk is outstanding for us, scores and saves goals.
But we are a team, and imho our midfield (also responsible for goals scored and conceded) is often to soft centred.
Losing Dunk, it would be hard to imagine another defender...
