    I agree, add to that draconian business/commercial laws/taxes . . . . .there are loads of empty spaces locally. Not that they should all be converted but holding hih means they never get used. Busineeses can't afford to. I couldn't, WFH saved me a wage a week!

    don't forget the corporations and ultra wealthy, they can help fund the restocking of social housing. preferably by reposession renovation and conversion of empty property.

    IMO building millions more homes is not viable. Population density is too high, at least in the south east. The governement have tried and only partly succeeded in wiping out half the population. They continue to make the country a less attractive and viable proposition, so maybe in another...

    Well the climates not perfect, but my own supply has worked well in the past. :rolleyes: What ever ones social poison, a change of scenery is a must from time to time. even if thats a trip to a concrete jungle for a gig and record shops! :lolol:

    Most of my hobbies are self funding to a point. TBH the biggest life choice is living where I want to, where I'm happy. I don't feel the need to have to get away from the place. I do like travelling though. a few hundred miles on an old scooter for music and beer, or dragging an old car about...

    Lifestyle choices. we never and still haven't wasted/invested in holidays and bling, but I guess we're asset rich . . . . even a few lock ups we bought for storage/work have proved a good investment. although from a very personal point of view it was always a case of cheaper than renting!

    looks like it did start kicking off a bit post 97. after a year out being, or trying to be a rock star I was trying to salvage some semblance of career/income coupled with a needy girlfriend/student in London so probably didn't notice...

    It didn't really kick off until 2000 my flat went from 40-55 from 1992-1999 . .subsequent cottage went 65-150 by summer 2003. its been bonkers ever since. everythings gone bonkers though, house extension & renovations have recently cost more than my first 2 properties combined . . .nothing...
