I do however agree with your point , if you’re earning decent money , is it too much to expect to be able to buy a comfortable 4 bed detached house in Sussex . Unfortunately with huge house price inflation over the last 20 years , it’s very difficult .

Isn’t that just supply and demand , very little demand in Scotland outside of Edinburgh and a handful of other parts in Scotland . That’s why housing is so much cheaper there as well as rent .
May Sound a lot for a 2 bed in Saltdean but look at what you can get for that money in more central areas of Brighton/ Hove . A small 2 bed flat if you are lucky !

I suspect house prices will stay very similar to what they currently are. Some people spooked by the 30% drop in the share market will no doubt pull there money out and invest in property. Probably a sensible thing to do. The stock market could take a long time , years to recover. People always...
