Good grief, you’re spot on of course the tracksuit days coincided with his worst run as our manager… what was he thinking? Here’s hoping for the jacket, scarf (even if it’s 25 degrees) and pseudo intellectual staring into the distance that smote Peps ruin ‘upon the Amex pitch-side.
It would give us all hope, no matter how bad things become there is a path to salvation... Come on Jurgen, come on home... our very own prodigal son.
Get yer PJs off and play.
Absolutely spot on, the adaptability of a player to play in our system (or systems) is ultimately the true measure of success. Izzy clearly had that natural ability to work in various roles, but his work ethic also helped. Jurgen and Ali probably just didn’t have what was required - the fact...
To be fair to Jurgen, I’m not sure we ever played him in his proper position, a position btw I’m not sure he is even confident of. One thing is certain however, he’s no number 9. He probably never was, Hughton surely must take some of the blame starting him as a lone target man, when in his own...
I don't really belong to that brigade, but he was in charge of a huge slide in form (confidence) post Christmas - as we all know. Thus he has to shoulder a fair proportion of the blame, and (historically) he will. Now, if Ali J and Jurgs fail to perform under a GP type I would suggest it was...
Yep I agree with that - he's looking better in that regard already... Chris certainly seemed to lose faith in himself, consequently his players lost their mojo, as we did too and eventually the boardroom with it... the rest is history.
Confidence and belief (as I'm sure we all appreciate) are...
Having watched Jurgen this pre-season (with interest), yes he's playing with more freedom and greater confidence - that much is clear. However, he still looks like a decent championship player to me - which at this level isn't going to be good enough. That said, he could (as all good...
I'd say Jurgen has shown more in brief flashes than Ali J - who seems to glide around the pitch without influencing much at all. The goals Jurgen did score in his brief cameos and/or the shifts he put in on occasion up top away from home up against 6-7 top defenders on his own.. suggest to me...
