Wouldn't it be better to clear the hard drive of all the inevitable crap that's on there ? W7 should only need about 20GB (64 bit) to work OK .....and you think there's more likely to be a problem with a (new ?) hard drive you've bought, than a 12 year old laptop you bought from a guy in a Lidl...

Perhaps. Suspect a few were hoping his internet access was going to be properly knackered for months - opportunity missed perhaps ‘Try typing ‘format c:’ and when it says are you sure, type ‘y’ [emoji23][emoji23]

Is this the guy you spoke to ?

Is it just the game she's having the cut-out on, or wider broadband access ?

Is it one particular game that it happens with given you're not having the same issue ? Could be a problem their end........
