The Bakers or The Bakerboys
Has associations with a historical Brighton industry, Forfars who were in Brighton for 200 years and Sunblest, slightly more recent.
Also start with the letter "B" so have added onomatopoeic credentials.
The Bohemians
Brighton has long been considered to be a bohemian town or city as far back as Regency times. It also begins with the letter "B" so has onomatopoeic credentials which is always a bonus. The club's crest or badge would be along these lines...
The Razors
Suggesting we cut through our opponents' defences with razor like precision. Also a slyly sinister reference to the razor gangs who use to operate at Brighton Racecourse. This might also instill an element of fear in our rival supporters.
As is made clear in the opening post, that option isn't available. Possibly because of trademark issues or some other explanation.
You could have "The Herring Gulls" as a compromise if you want if you are determined to stick with the seabird theme, or perhaps "The Larus".
The Bulldogs or is it best to stay clear of any possible associations with a well known Kemp Town pub. Best not encourage our rival supporters.
Perhaps "The Greyhounds" is a better canine option. Also has local significance.
