Isn’t that what you do in a debate. I rarely get involved in lengthy binfest. I can think of three occasions over the 18 plus years that I’ve been on nsc. Hardly prolific!
So people have an issue with my posts but instead of taking up with me they pm you ...... I would have thought nsc finest would be better than that. Let’s face it I’m hardly one of nsc more argumentative posters ....
Nothing to do with saving face. I suggest you think about what a senior officer in the met would have been trained to do, and what those situations would be.
If you also actually read what I posted you will know that I did not expect him to take the guy out. As was pointed out there were two...
The fact that he was unarmed is not at question, in other attacks members of the public through objects, shouted and acted as a distraction which brought time for the emergency services to act. I’m not expecting him to physically take the guy on but any distraction buys seconds if not minutes...
Really .... i think your interpretation shows a distinct lack of understanding as to what is expected of our police officers. It also shows a lack of understanding of what those that wear or have worn a uniform expect of there superiors and colleagues.
Utter crap. Those of us criticising him is because of his total inaction and dereliction of duty. He basically left it to others when he was arguably best qualified to act. At a minimum distracting the attacker until fire arm officers turned up would have been of benefit. He didn’t. During other...
You can’t assess the situation in a car with the doors locked. The simple act of getting out of the car and putting yourself in the view of the attacker will change the dynamics of the situation. He is after all paid to ‘keep the piece’
But that’s the point. A person of his rank and training is expected to make the call in this situation. If he can’t then who can!?
A quick ‘stay in the car and lock the doors, I’ll be back when I can’ would have sufficed.
Sums up it well. At least cause a distraction even if it’s screaming abuse and chucking whatever comes to hand. He is a senior officer in the met and with that comes responsibility, which he failed to fulfill. At a minimum he should of taken charge of the scene and ensure that members of the...
